Hey everyone, this is my first post so be nice //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I know nothing about car audio, so I'm not sure about the feasibility of what I'm about to ask. Basically, I have a GPS unit in my car that is a clone of the OEM one but I'm not happy with the audio quality. It's not bad, but if I upgrade my speakers, I'd like better quality to really make it worth it. My idea is to add another head unit (a kenwood Excelon KDC-X996 is what I had in mind) which will have better sound and more control. I have a space in the glovebox I could put it, but I may fabricate it into the dash, to make it look really high-tech-ish, like having two TV's for separate football games. Anyways, I was wondering if it was possible to do this. I want to get the FM reception as well as AUX from the kenwood unit. Is there a way I can cut the signal and whatnot from the OEMish unit and give it to the kw (kenwood, sorry if that's obvious but I don't know much audio lingo...)? So to summarize, I want to get FM radio, satellite, aux, etc. from the kw unit I want to add, but retain the GPS from the unit I have now. I really like the one I have, GPS is great and everything else works nice, but I want better radio quality. I've tried amplified adapters but it still doesn't do it for me. So PLEASE, if anyone has a solution or a walkthrough/guide of how I can do this, please let me know...Since you guys would be helping me for a lot less than a stereo shop, I'm willing to paypal anyone who can guide me through, successfully, the process needed to get this to work, a sum for their time. Thanks guys, looking forward to learning a lot from everyone here!
