Two diamond audio tdx 12's

I just hooked up these two subs to a rf x6 and they sound horrible you get some deep bass and then nothing. Should I upgrade the amp or put a cap on it (already ordered). What about a ma audio hk4000d (just ordered it) would this do the job?
