Two 15" Kicker Comp, Sealed or Ported?

Hello,

I am currently questioning whether or not I want to build a Ported or Sealed enclosure for my new 15" Kicker Comp, (before you go and say anything about the quality of Kicker I should already say that I am a college student and got an awesome deal on these two brand new subwoofers) I drive a 2007 Avalanche and have already built two different midgate boxes in the past, both were for dual 10s.

This will be a set up that I will have for at least two years or more. Or at least I can hope that the subs will last that long! I want it to be loud, but I want it to be stand able I also want the best sound quality possible because I do listen to multiple genres.. But for the most part its 80% rap and 20% Country. I just need some help figuring out the most efficient set up for these two 15s.

Thank you for your time any help is appreciaited!

You're really not going to get much SQ from those subs. I would port it regardless because you can get great SQ from a properly designed/built enclosure. If you built the enclosure in your avatar, you should be capable of anything we throw at you for those subs.

I do agree that I feel I can handle the complexity of the build I just need a little help on figuring out the dimenesions or working with the overall best cubic feet for these particular subwoofers because I am still a amateur in understanding how subs respond to the boxes they are put in.

garbage can
I'm sorry that my equipment doesn't meet your standards but I do not have the money for an incredible system. I got both subwoofers new and unopened for 100$. I am a college student that can't simply spend 600-800 on a very nice setup. I have heard Kickers before and I feel like they met my standards in what I am looking for with the budget I had.

i'm just playin man dont get mad .do a ported box ,just watch the power you put on them ,dont need much to blow them
No worries believe me I wish I could had went with something else that I had in mind I just can't afford that right now. Are they really that fragile to power? I know I should go for ported my biggest problem is figuring out the overall dimensions for this specific woofer and it being a dual enclosure.

Mounting Depth (IN.,CM) 7 7/16, 18.9

Mounting Cutout (IN.,CM) 13 11/16, 34.7

Min Rec Sealed Box Volume (CU. FT., Liters) 2.25, 63.7

Max Rec Sealed Box Volume (CU. FT., Liters) 5.0, 141.6

Min Rec Vented Box Volume (CU. Ft., Liters)** 3.0, 85

Max Rec Vented Box Volume (CU. Ft., Liters)** 4.0, 113.3

Is the specs from there website. Should I go about in the middle of the recommended ported? Also what would such design look like as far as the internal.. The wall inside to make the air direct to the port is what confuses me the most.

I'm sure double posting is ground upon but I am open to pay someone to help me figure out the port dimensions. I am good with wood working but I am not very good at figuring out the calculations for the port tuned to 33hz.

Thanks!
