Two 12W6s vs Two 10W7s

So as the title said, both in a sealed set up with proper power, i know both will sound clean but what will have the better output of the two?

Is it possible for 10's to hit as low as 12's? or is it a myth that sub size matters in hitting lows?

??

if you have the room for 12's, and the money for w7s... and are ignorant enough not to consider the hundred other cheaper, better brands... why not just do 2 12w7s //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

size making any difference in how low a sub can play is a bunch of commie bullshit.

They are going in a truck, i only have room for the two options available. It is the airspace being a factor. I know it doesn't make sense until you see what i am working with.

any response to the thread question though?

no one can tell you for sure what will have better output, it depends too much on the vehicle itself, the amp being used, the box design/size...

i dont see why you would be able to fit a 12w6 and 10w7, but not a 12w7. depth? if thats the case, why dont you consider one of the cheaper, louder, better sounding, more durable, shallower drivers out there? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

not mounting depth but the air space, a 12w6 uses the same as a 10w7 does....

7 is higher then 6 so they must be better:confused:
Haha !!! lol

you dont have to use the recommended airspace.
there are also better subs that get down in smaller enclosures... why so set on jl?
I really like the sound of the jl Line... i currently run two 12W6's, so am basically wondering if two10w7 would be a upgrade or not,...

the box will be exactly like this:

there is a lot of jl haters here, but to your question. in sealed apps, x-max tends to yeald more output with everything els being equal. if you have the right power for the w7's they will have more output.

i was running a 12w6v2 ported on a mtx 81000d and then switched to a 10w7 ported with the same amp and even though the w7 seen a little less power it was louder.

saying there are louder, better sounding, cheaper subwoofers than any of jl's offerings isnt hate, its a fact...

i'm trying to help the dude get what he's looking for and more with some extra cash in his pocket, not hating jl as a brand... my first system had jl subs, and they were fine for what i did with them. i can't say i'd ever run them again for any application though.

do some shoping around for the jl subs, if you can get a good deal thats just a plus because they can be quite expencive.

in the end it all comes down to what fits your application and taste.

iam not a big jl fan but have found that the 10w7 fit one of my applications as far as output and sound quality. everybodys taste are diffrent so go with what you like.

there is no "fact" in the way something sounds. what sounds good to you may not sound good to someone els.

ive herd jl that were in setups that were just as loud as other brands, all depends on the setup.

as far as price, well you got me there bro:)

Haha !!! lol

if you have enough power for the 2 of them, then yes they will make you very happy.
