two 12's or one 15

NoLimit, there are several of us now in Dallas with mags. 12's or 15's.

Send me a PM if you are close by and want a demo. If you get the BMs definatly send me a PM...I want to hear them //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Technically I'm in flower mound, but I'd love to hear them.

And of COURSE I'll right up a review //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

And Ben from low-hz is gonna get me box plans, I'm going ported //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Gotta get the dimensions of my trunk, I keep forgetting lol.

Feel free to stop by when we install them jntar //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Prolly in the next 2 weeks, Ben's shipment doesnt come in til later this week //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Do they have exaggerated upper frequencies? Is that why they sound tight or fast? Why exactly do they sound that way, are they lacking displacement?

Subwoofers are NOT fast...

tweeters are fast

also a 50hz signal is 20 milliseconds long

a 20hz signal is 50 milliseconds long

You will not be able to notice a 1-5ms difference when the original signal is so long...

the car environment totally trashes transient response of the woofers anyhow...so I dont believe the speed of the woofer itself is the issue. If you're focused on transient response deadening and minimizing reflections (which isnt possible unless you use a DSP or dipole since you're pressurizing the car) should be much more of an issue than the woofer design itself.

when the original signal is .2 milliseconds long (where you are most sensitive 2000-5000hz) you can easily notice the difference because the delay is much longer than the actual signal...but NOT at sub frequencies.

wasnt just you... sounds like someone just read a book about physics and put words and numbers to use //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

i see what he is hinting at, but he is missing the point i think. but im going to let him come back and try to explain what he is trying to say laugh out loud.

Hyphy?
Didn't know the grammar police were here my bad //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Ordering the BM's in an hour //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
No, I was saying the mag live up to the "hype"

there is no "hype" it is all fact.

Type ARGGG!!! = Hype

06 XXX = Hype

Mag = Fact. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

and this ramble is in regard to what post in this thread? lol

how can you say the type r is hype? its like $100 and is a proven fact that its not bad

electrodynamic mentioned that the subs seemed incredibly transient...I was merely pointing out that it was probably a hump in the upper frequency vs *increased speed* of the woofers.

or inductance.. or superior dampening of the woofer due to design, or the amp..

hell.. alot of transient issues are confused with distortion characteristics of the woofer as well..

he didn't say a word about speed.. so it shouldn't have been brought up.. lol

Loyd L.

well transient response is associated with the speed of the woofer..so thats what I was basing it off of

If I took what he said out of context...than my bad

its ok.. I woulda been on his *** too if he said anything about the speed of a driver.. because its 100% bunk..

but he knows that..

this is all he said..

but even from a single driver standpoint, the BM's deliver tighter bass than our Mag's do. With the design on paper both the Mag's and BM's should deliver equal SQ but in reality the BM's are slightly punchier than our Mag's are.

Q: I am Teh n00bx. I want loud and I was looking at (insert superwoofer here).

A: D00d, get an alpine type R. It is only like $120 and its loud as ****.

Q: Will it still sound good?

A: Who cares? it is loud. It sounds good to my ears.
