Two 12" RL-P's Vs. Three 8" RL-I's

2x rlp ftw!!!! ill let you listen to my rlp off 600w ported wed, and you make your decision from that //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I am sending 800 to my RL-p and it sounds real good. The sub has real good SQ. The 8s would be cool but I think 2 12s would bet the way to go with the amp you are getting. The 8 in the video is only getting about 250-300 watts of the amp @8ohms.

Are you going ported or sealed? My 12 is ported and it still has a real tight sound.

dont do it man. How much power are you planning on sending to it? I was sending mine 1200 watts and it kept bottoming out.
would you STFU ... even mike will tell you that he would not give an RL-p 1200 watts........Thats exactly why he conservatively rates them at 500. So jackassssses like you don't feed them 2000 if he rated them at 1000

he really needs to STFU because SKMFKR feed his 1500 and they took it like a champ. ls must of either had his gains fuxor'd or was running em off a amp with no sub preout...

yeah i realize that now, i just bought the wrong sub for my needs. I just wanted one monster sub, and the XXX seems to be the best fit. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif That thing takes a pounding like it is nothing.

well i'm glad you realized your mistake and yeah the XXX is a beast...had one before the RL-p's

Reading the specs before you buy a sub would be a bright idea next time...junior

picked up an MD2 from flakko today and heard his RL-P. Sounded awesome so I've got my mind set on 2 12" RL-Ps unless someone has some RL-I8's that i can listen to that MIGHT make me change my mind. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

The RL-i's are great, but you're talking about two 12's vs. three 8's. The two 12's have more cone area. Also the RP-s's also have more excursion, they are more sensitive and have a much wider, 3" which means more Bl product and more power handling. The i's have a smaller 2" vc. This is a no brainier. It would likely take four or five, 8" rl-i's to match 2 12" Rl-p's.
