Twistedchild420's Dual 18" build log(I'm really not building shit!)

nice. you're so gifted you can tell scores from looking at a box..

Is the inside of the port carpeted also? Looks funky. Why didn't they just paint the inside black.

yea i used to have cheap tens and i wanted to switch over to 8 beefy tens but damn that shit would be exspensive:crap:

how is the front baffle sealed to the rest of the box? In the vid it looked like they were wrapping the carpet around the baffle and stapling/glueing it to the backside of it. Just wondering how good its gonna seal if thats how they did it.

It was screwed in and siliconed on the back side ...that baffle will most likely not be the final one...worried about basket clearance on the corners....the final baffle will be braced with 2x4's and screwed/bolted in when my 18's come in!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

So what subs are you going with? Sad to see you already ditch the 21"er //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

As far as the double baffle recommendations go...I think double baffles are highly overrated and overly recommended for setups that really don't need it. A properly braced single baffle(especially with 1" MDF) will be strong as hell. I can only see double/triple baffles being absolutely necessary on monster builds like Andrew's, or if you're doing a wall that has some very heavy woofers in it that might be able to strip screws through a single sheet. Of course, if you're running subs that heavy, you're probably running a lot of power and already have your box double or triple baffled.
