Tweeters Blown?

What do blown tweeters sound like? On certain types of music (primarily classical and rock) I get some strange sound, don't know how to describe it.

Do any of you listen to hoobastank or gavin degraw? It happens on these songs.

Anyway, my mids are fine so I'm thinking about buying a pair of tweeters only. Where can I get a good set of tweeters to replace my planet audio tweeters?

Does it happen at all volumes, or only when turned up loud?

my gain settings were cranked, hence a major clipping problem, and basically i heard nothing from them

It happens at all volumes on those cd's. I also hear it a little bit on the green day cd. Back when I listened to rap I didn't notice it. But guitars (electric ones) I tend to hear it now. When I turn the volume up, it's harder to hear but it's still there.
