I am getting ready to upgrade from my ten year old 36" television in my basement. I think that i have narrowed my options a somewhat, and i just wanted some other opinions and suggestions. My first option i am considering is this Samsung 67" LCD DLP. Another way i am thinking of going is the projection route with something like this Mitsubishi Electric HC5000.

My basement, where this will be going, only has two small windows and only gets a little light through those. Also this will mostly be for video games, sports, and just some regular tv watching.

So what do you guys have, and what would you recommend?

i have a samsung 67 dlp......wouldn't get anything else with what this tv has , size, 1080p, 120 hz processing, 3d capable etc etc. you can find deals right at 2 grand for these maybe cheaper. led light engine lasts like 20,000 hours, no bulbs to replace and the tv use about as much power as a 100 watt light bulb. plasmas drink power and give off tons of heat plus three times as much cost for smaller screen.

my room size is like 24 by 26 so i didn't need to have tv on the wall

is hanging it on a wall really that important to you?.....go dlp

The only reason I got an LCD was because the TV cant be placed in the center of the room. So viewing angle was very important. So that meant no on DLP. I play games on it alot in a bright room. So an LCDs less reflective screen and no chance of burn in was needed.
