I want to install a dvd headunit in my 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee but with the lip above the opening I don't know if its possible. Will some of you guys who are installers chime in and tell me if you have done this and if there were any modifications involved. I have seen people on cardomain who have them installed int he dash but the screen doest go completely up due to the lip. If thats the only possible way I will just change my mind and find a new headunit. Thanks In Advance.

what do you mean by lip? in the dash?

when i had my in dash i had to fabricate a bracket for the unit to stick out an additional 2" for the screen to clear my vents

Most people that do it in ZJs, move the head unit to where the HVAC controls are and swap them. You'll need to extend some of the vacuum lines.
