...more so features people pay extra for just to say they have them. Theyre virtually pointless if you ask me. That being said, I could justify dropping a little extra for the 3's just to get rid of the pitch gap...but then again, I use my MKII's more than anything just because I'm too lazy to move the new ones in.Might want to look into the 'MK5 version of the SL-1200, they added a few mods like taking out the click stop in the middle of the pitch fader, and doubling the range of the anti-skate...useless for hi-fi, but may come in handy for DJing.
Do a search for the "Technics SL-1200 FAQ" on Google, some useful info in there about fixing things, making adjustments, etc
