Turning around in the middle of the street??

Can you just do a random U-turn in the middle of the street if you want to start going to opposite direction?

I just see police doing it all the time, but then again some of them feel like they are "above the law". . .

I usually just make sure there are no cops around, I do not believe it is legal to do but the cop would probably have to be a huge *** to pull you over for it.

Really? You can just flip a u in the street legally? I've done it late at night after a cop check, but I wouldn't do it with people around me (obviously not in my way, but like behind me or something)

^^^ Yeah Im pretty sure. Atleast from what the driving school I went to told us. I could be wrong though but I think in Michigan its legal.

Might be limited to the type of roadway as Im sure its not legal on a highway.

I do it, when there is bumper to bumper traffic, and no cars coming the other way.

It is illegal to make random U-turns in residential and business districts in my state but there is an easy solution wherever you are.
Go to the side of the road and stop for 3 seconds. That technically counts as 'parking'. Then proceed to make your U-turn. That is perfectly legal as long as you are coming from a 'parked' position.
