Turnin up the volume

Hey guys. Is it a bad thing that my HU volume can go up to 50 but I can't turn it up past maybe 25-27 without it being just way high n loud n rattling everything. Well nothing compared to that blowhole video I just saw, but loud for me.

Does this mean I need to better adjust the gains and what not. Before I could go around 35 on volume but now usually 20 is about my limit for most songs while driving around. Lol. But it does sound good. I'm sort of a noob though, yes I'll admit it

thanks

No not that it is to loud. Loud is good. I'm just wondering if I need to redo it. I took it to a audio shop a friends at and they "claim" they set the gains and tuned it. But all the tutorials for setting gain that I have read say do it with volume set to 3/4s max. And I can't even go near that level. So I'm wondering just what they did and how off they are or if it is ok to not get anywhere near ur HU max volume setting

i turn my deck all the way up, then set my gains. that way if someone cranks my stereo, it wont hurt anything but my deck doesnt clip at full volume either

Is the clip very easy to notice. I have a dmm and read of JL site how they recommend to do it. Turn down the input sensitivety and set everything to zero, use a 1 kHz sine wav, I found that but couldn't download it lol. So ya. I just don't know if it's needed or where to start and ya if someone cranked my stereo shit would get jacked up if they went over 30 lol

Were you talking bout my video:)
I believe I might have been. I've never seen or experienced anything like that. So my comment in ur thread was genuine. That shit is crazyyyyy I can't imagine that, sitting in the truck would be dangerous

anyways. So I need to redo it. Shifty, but if better for sound and pretects my speakers then that's ok. Does anyon have a link for a downloadable 1 kHz sine wave like the JL site recommends, and I wonder if anyone knows the clipping level on JVC stuff. I'll have to google that a little

Much louder out there though

unless youre clipping really hard, youll need an oscilloscope

I don't have an oscilloscope. I don't need anything down to the exact, I just want to get it tuned better thats all... I don't feel the need to spend cash on an expensive machine to tune it. Ear's are best right?
