This is a Turbostart 16v Step Up Transformer. This allows you to charge 16v batteries off a 12v system without any added modifications. I ran this on my system for years and it worked flawlessly. My system consisted of 2 18" MT's, 2 Visonik V4000XD's, and 4 Turbostart batteries. As you can imagine this system drew lots of amperage, and the transformer kept up with it no problem.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Price - $100

The wires on every one Ive owned are the same size as this one..and they are closer to 12 gauge. Either way..the thing works and that's all that matters //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

So it's similar to a voltage regulator then? And how's this relate to an alternator and it's draw? The alt will still put out the same amps just charge your batteries at 16v so they can run at that right? How many can this actually charge at once? I'm very interested now..

Well how many amps can this one push up?
not as many as you'd think, when I owned my first one I talked to snoopdan about it a lot, he said i'd been better off with an ext. regulator/ or a seperate alt all together, I was going to try and get 2-4 of these for my 2 16v batts but never could find another thus I ended up selling my first. The wire is just too small to push a lot through over the amount of time bigger subs/amps drain the juice

Like I said..I powered 2 V4000XD current hogs and 4 turbostart batteries with this thing. Don't underrate it if you've never had experience with it. If you are running banks of batteries, obviously it will not keep up. I did 154.6 all day long with this setup //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
