Well i actually set the gains on my amp i just followed like what everyone told me to do:). I wired up that one pioneer that sub pounds holy hell man what a diffrence from audiobahn i had the volume at like 5 and my rear view was shaking bahns used to take me up to volume 20 haha. i think making that shorter ground for my amp though also helped before the ground was real long and was sad how it was done but hey what did i know //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif . but got the Hu tuned up right and the amp gains set now just waiting on the other 12 2 put in that box so that way can put that in the box wire it all up and then do a clean install:).//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif

Aight not trying to be an *** but I want to make sure these don't take the same death as the audioblings.....

What kind of amp (Name, model,RMS output at 4ohms,2 ohms and 1 ohm)

What size power and ground wires are you using and what size inline fuse?

Your HU.....You have all processors and EQ's set to off right and the bass, treble, fader and balancer all set flat (centered) right?

On the headunit everything flat yes , but just realized once i get the other 12 im gonna have to take out the other and re wire it and i realized that i wired it as it were a 8 ohm sub like i did the bahn so have to wire it parrell but hey thats alright more fun for me 2 do like doing this stuff:) , my amp is a SPL-ST2 1440 2 ohm-stable 2 channel pushing 360@2 ohms @4 ohms its pushn 300 the LPF IS 40hz-250hz the fuse im running is a 60 amp rockford cause 40 blew easy. The size power cable and ground wire iam using it 4 guage.

Set the LPF to 80hz and youll be happy

As far as the woofers, did you get SVC or DVC 4 ohms? If you got the DVC, then you're gonna want to get a new amp. if it were me, i'd get a new amp either way.

Putting 360w to 800w RMS worth between 2 subs isn't gonna move them to their potential.

Just curious, why do you guys always say make sure the EQ is flat? I usually set my midrange and highs to +2 or so, with my bass either at 0 or sometimes +2.

I mean, they put an EQ for a reason, so you could make it sound how you want it to, right?

Please, please get rid of that amp......

You need a nice MONO/Class D amplifier not some 2 channel and well when you get the second sub that amp won't do shit....

You see you have a Dual 4 ohm vc subwoofer and well your options when you get a second are...

wire each subs vc's in series so each sub is now 8 ohms and wire the subs in parallel to the amp to present the amp with a 4 ohm load.

wire each subs vc's in parallel so each sub is now 2 ohms and wire in parallel to the amp to present the amp with a 1 ohm load.

Either way your amp isn't going to provide enough power.

you want a 800-1000w RMS mono/class D amplifier.

I'd say get a Hifonics BXI1206D and call it a day.

Also how did you set your amps gains...not using bass boost are we?

You say you have the sub which is a dual 4 ohm vc wired in series to present the amp with an 8 ohm load....tsk tsk....

Wire the subs VC's in parallel to present a 2 ohm load.

Alright well i got the amp's recipt at the place i got it from but whats a good amp he had some crunch amp's , pyle , audiobahn (**** them). or could i just keep the amp and get 2 cap's?

Hmmmm.I would use the dedicated highs/mids amps eq'ing to do that to be on the safe side.

I know i have to do that took my system all out of my car just gonna do it once i get the other sub. but alright guys here's the amps that this guy has he has a directed 1200d , some crunch amps never even heard of em? audiobahn , SPL , pyle????

Hifonics BXI1206D for the amp...edit...or directed 1200d.

don't repeat don't get a cap...in mostcases it will hurt your electrical more then your electrical was in the first place.

What I'd say worst case scenario you'll need a bigger alternator. but I doubt that even.

My car has a stock 105 amp alternator and no BIG 3 done no extra batteries just my stock cranking battery and I get no dimming problems at high volumes and just a slight voltage drop (from 14.4v to 14v).

Buy yourself the Hifonics and get a bigger in line fuse (80 amps should do) so that when you buy the 2nd sub you can atleast power both of them properly.

Just talked to the guy i bought the amp from he said this weekend bring it in and he will either trade me one off that does that rms help me out here guys'????

His amp is not bridgeable? 4ohm mono (final load) usually attains the max power from a 2-channel A/B amplifier in bridged mode, should work fine with a pair of 4ohm DVC's.
Audiobahnuser... please tell me your sub enclosure has two seperate chambers, one for each sub. If its a shared space and you only have one sub in it, playing..... well that wouldn't be a good or smart thing to do.
