I got $215 cash for Christmas and I'm looking to run 1 12" sub in my Explorer. I keep going back and forth between these two subs.

Both subs will be in a 2ft^3 @ 32Hz ported box and ran off 350 watts from a Profile Ap700M.

I'm not too picky with the SQ, more concerned about the output. Right now I'm leaning towards the Pioneer just because it's a bit cheaper and more efficient. Any thoughts?

Id personally get the CompVr's, but I have 2 ported on a jbl 1200 right now. I've installed and owned both and I think the cvr's get a little louder, but both a good subs.

I would say CVR if you are set on those 2 choices but if not like BBT said their is better out there for the money like the 3004spl. If you arn't too concerned about SQ you can even get a L7 from ebay for around 140 shipped or even a Type R for $110.

Cvr gets pretty loud but off that power the 306 should get louder than the cvr and it will sound a lot better than the cvr and thats a fact... i have used both subs and the CVR has the "ability" to get a little louder than the 306 but the pioneer is a much better sounding sub.

and if you have the money then get the 3004spl... great sub better than the other 2 options... i played with one of those and my gts600 and it was just great.
