trying to find new subs

I know that almost any sub will be an improvement to what I am running now but hoping to get some advice. Right now I have 2 rockford p1 12", powered by a rockford amp. I haven't had a system in the last 10 years so am unaware of of what's out there.

So far I have been looking at the the soundqubed HDC3 15". I am hoping to stay under $300 per sub and am planning on getting 2.

What's everyone's opinion on these subs and is there anything out the that is in the same price range that will outperform these. I'm looking for some hard hitting deep lows

They will be installed in a dodge journey

It will be hard to outperform those subs for the same price. They move ALOT of air.. and hits deep lows.. Make sure you get a custom enclosure no matter what subs you get.. That will make the biggest difference there..

Not competing but love me some deep loud bass
uhh.. I think you might wanna think twice before you tune that high.. It will be loud YES.. but you won't be able to hit anything in the 40's or 30's.. Basically what I'm trying to say is it will sound like utter crap.. You said you want deep lows.. You tune to 50 hz, then forget about it.. People only tune that high for burping competitions.. that is the only purpose... It will not sound good with music AT ALL.. I guarantee it..

Really? My box right now is right around 47 and it hits way lower now than before tuned at around 35
What size woofer? and how big is the box? I don't know what your definition of low is but I highly doubt you have it tuned to 47.. Did you do the calculations yourself or someone designed it for you?

We used reaudio box designer. My buddy helped me out. 12" sub 1.79ft3
RE is extremely inaccurate and basically garbage most of the times. Use torres box calculator along with Winisd. You must of gotten your numbers all out of whack if you think tuning higher makes you hit lower.

an actually 47hz tuning will make you sound like a one note wonder box. Gets loud but sounds like sh*t and does not hit deep. Deep is the 20-35hz vibrational window flexing bass that feels like a hurricane. Loud and slammy/chest poundy is the 40-50hz range of music which is by no means deep.

so either your numbers are screwed up or your definition of deep bass is not accurate.

Thanks I will definitely look into it. What should I be tuning too?
That is entirely up to you. You should learn to use winisd so you can study the curve. You have to ask yourself what type of music you listen to the most.. Do you want it to play only one specific genre? or do you listen to a wide array of music? Do you want all punch? Do you want all lows? or alittle of everything? balanced? There's so many ways to answer your question... Go back to the drawing board and do more research.. tuning to 48 is a baddd idea..
