Tryin to talk friend into a new amp

My friends amp is not what he needs he got it cheap and it worked so he thinks its fine, but its not his subs are getting nowhere near the sq or output they should. because they are getting way below rms.

So i need an amp reccomendation for him

Here are his subs

Recommended RMS Power: 200W

Peak Power Handling: 400W

Impedance: 4 ohms

So not sure on wiring but i guess he needs a good amp that does 200x2rms

If he thinks it is fine and is happy with what he has why would you care what amp he is using? Perhaps he bought it cheap because that is what was in his budget.

Or would you reccomend selling his subs and keeping his amp since its a mono amp and going with a new box and a new sub.

Kicker cvr10 dual 4 only thing that really comes to mind with his space he has under a seat in a extended cab truck

Cause when he hears a diffrence he'll hit the roof. trust me he needs a change of either amp or subs

lol he is only underpowering his subs by 50 watts a piece. plus rockford makes solid amps so it probably does more. he'll never notice a difference between 300 and 400

Well i didnt install it and ive checked to see if his subs are wired correctly and they look that way and his amp is set and his Hu settings are fine. Is it possible it could be the box?

The box was custom made for another truck.not his truck so in his its just sitting on the floor.

the backseat was removed and a whole cut so box set flush with the rising in the floor below where seat used to be. The box is fiberglass sealed and was not made specifically for his subs. and he has them upfiring

You need to calculate the volume of the box to see if it is anywhere near what the subs need. If they are not in the right box that could very well be the problem.
