truck=zero bass !!!

i got a 2004 tahoe with 2 idq12's in a sealed box and im not satisfied with the punch and lowend. should i run a downfire box? i listen to mostly metal and industrial. i have another idq12 laying around- has anybody ever complained about lowend issues with the idq12?

ive seen you post this before somewhere, i dont think its your truck, maybe try a ported box thats the first thing that comes to my mind, idq's arent the made to be the most powerful subs, but i hear they are meant to produce ultra low bass freq

it's powered by one dls A6 (1200@1ohm) im currently running the subs in a 2 ohm load so there getten 875 watts rms. the box is 1.6 cubic sealed(.08 per sub)

if you want it really punchy, go with a small sealed box, if you want it to go lower, go with a larger sealed box. If you do have room though, id do a ported box @ 30-32hz
i listen to mostly metal so im looking for a box that produces punchy loud bass and can get low when need be. is this possible? maybe a bandpass?

their all wired correctly and ran through the lowpass on the dqx. i think im gonna run three in a sealed downfire- i just dont like the way ported sounds. kinda hard to decide because to get a custom down-fire box will run me 400 bucks!!!

we'll if you run all 3 idq12's in a down fire with seperate chambers for each sub, with built in braces in a glass box yeah it will run you 400 bucks
i'd do that for a 100$ //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif give or take

youre problem is you listen to rock , sealed sucks for rock , you need to go ported. And i talk from experience so let me tell you what ive HEARD.

i had a xxx and 2 koda 10's, i listen to lots of korn the drummer david is VERY talented(at least in there first 2 albums) he used LOTS of fast kick bass.

I have my 12 xxx ported 35hz 2.5 , very loud, very clean, the kick in my rock music is very nice and well defined(800rms). I tried my xxx sealed to see my rock music improve and honestly i lost a lot of the kick bass but the bass guitar sounded smoother.

Oh well i heard that a "small" sealed box will give you the "kick" in rock so i have 2 koda 10 laying around so i put them in a .5 sealed box!(****ing tiny) i had 2 of these and man they **** ***.

I hated my fact there was no kick bass in my rock music with these "sealed" boxes and did not expect a ported box to sound better than sealed.

oh and the rap with the xxx sealed was good and rap with koda 10s was non existing.

I listen to ALL types of music, and to be honest with you the best setup I have run was 2 12w6v2's in a sealed box 3.0 cub total shared chamber. These things got lOUD punchy and tight. And did drop VERy low as well. For the type of music and sq I have not heard a better setup that I have ran yet to really touch how these sounded with almost anything I have listen to. Most of the subs and boxes I have done have there own style, and those were the only thing that would mix well with all types. And I was giving them about 600 a piece, in a suv as well. MY sx right now will not make my review mirror move really well ( 15 sx 4.0 after disp tuned to 35) those 2 jl's would have my mirror dropping and I couldnt see while driving it would stay down. I was so impressed with them.
