What is it about this brand that makes it "da shiznit"?

Seriously...I know that each brand has its own customer base, but what is it about Tru Technology that gives it the "untouchable" aura around it? Is it the build quality (hand-built according to thier website)? The color of the copper amps?

For those that want to respond...please say something useful other than "oh its clean sounding" or any other bs like that. I'd like to be able to turn this into a somewhat serious topic.

rare/expensive items always have an aura of mystique surrounding them that causes people to covet ownership.

Not saying that the amps aren't great...just saying anything rare/hard to find always have some appeal just because they are rare and/or expensive.

I wouldn't think they are rare or even hard to find. There is a dealer here in Houston that has access to them, and I'm considering on using them in my new setup. I just never really understood what was so awesome about them. I do love the look of the copper amps though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif

They have reliability issues. Do some research on ECA and you know what I'm talking about.

still its not some shit you see at most stores...most people don't run it...and a lot of people probably never heard of it.

plus my comment was really general.

Why are Tru amps so expensive? Because that's what they can sell them for. They were trying to fill a "niche" market for super high end, "audiophile grade" amplifiers, and people were buying them because this niche doesn't have a lot of competition and the consumers in this niche are always looking for the latest and greatest. They also had a respectable online representative (dingling primarily) that really promoted their products well and created a major e-boner for them, and in the beginning appeared to be a respectable company with a quality product.
