Trouble with truck box and subwoofers

So, i just bought an 03 Dodge ram regular cab and it didn't take long for me to purchase a box and get my system in. Did a little research and decided to buy THIS...

In this box i have hooked up 2 sony xplode 1000w subs and a 2 channel Profile California series 1000w amp. After getting everything all hooked up, i was disappointed at the bass i had lost going from my ported box to this sealed box. I know these subs are probably not meant for the box so thats why i'm here. I'm looking at buying a new setup. I have heard plenty of people say i can get just as good bass out of a sealed box compaired to ported and thats what i want to do. I'm looking at getting 2 P3SD212's. I wanna hook those subs up to a Hifonics Brutus BXi1210D 1200W amplifier. Would this be a good setup that is going to give me good bass??? I don't know much about sealed boxes and i really just want somthing that is going to hit like my subs used to in a ported box. All the demensions for the box match what the sub need in range for cubic foot...

Any help would be appreciated or any other suggestions on other subs or amps...

Thanks in advance,

Hontz

from my exp, ported has always been better for me. But yea you deff ned to ditch the sony junk and get somethin real. What is ur budget? What do you look on speding?

You might look at getting a different box also, 1.22 cuft per sub isnt much to work with, maybe JL Audio, Memphis, or Pioneer slim series might be best for that box...

Yeah, the sony stuff is def going, i wasn't planning on keeping it. My budget is big so i'm not worried about that. Those subs i put up are shallow mount and work best from a 0.60 - 1.20 cubic feet and the box being a 1.22 cu ft it should work. There a guy on cardomain.com who built a sick ported box for his ram reg cab but doesn't have the demensions listed. I'd like to make a custom ported box but can't find demensions anywhere for one....

Ported will definitely be the way to go if you're only concerned about getting loud. For regular cab trucks aeroports are the best route. Just build a regular sealed box according to the recommended ported spec for the woofer you choose, pick out what size aeroports and how many you're going to use, and then enter all the info into the port length calculator and cut the ports to that length, cut the holes in the box and drop the ports in.

Can you go out to your truck and get a rough measurement by hand and shoot a pm over to mike465 to build you a good box, he built mine.

The build thread to mine is here

Yeah, i'll have to try and get measurments. I like the box he built for you. I think from looking at the pictures, i might have a little more room. Not sure tho.
