i deadened my metal door panels on my car. but i still have an annoying buzzing coming from a part of the plastic door skin. anybody have any tricks on what i could put on the back side of the door skin to stop this? i was thinking some expanding foam in a can, but some people have suggested against it. i know it would give the door skin a lot more strength.

one person was telling me to go to a craft store and get some foam and line the panel with that. i don't want to use a butyl based mat on it, it's just to much money and i'm not sure it will really work very well anyway.

i actually just saw a new method the other day. use "great stuff" foam. i have not tested what it does to spl but it stops vibrations
Be careful with that shit, and best to get the windows and doors minimal expanding kind for small areas.

If your not careful and figure out why you should be, please take pics and share //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

ha ha another member on here used it and when i asked him about it he made sure in all caps to make sure i remember that a little goes a long way and to make sure its 100 percent dry before i put the panel back on lol said just when you think it dry its not lol

silver backed peel & seal will do the trick and is pretty cheap. Mines been on for about 1 1/2 years and looks like the day I put it on. And ZERO vibrations...
would home depot have it? and what kind of quantity do you have to buy it in?

i have some of the expanding foam, and i have some of my Edead left over from when i did my doors. i'll see what i can do tomorrow.

Mass loading the plastic panel will help drop the resonating point. A spray like a spectrum will tend to help stiffen the panel more than a rolled-on mat would. You may or may not want this.

A more direct approach is to place a soft material between the two offending rub/buzz points so that even when they do vibrate, they bang aginst soft material, creating drastically less noise. A popular thing to do is to apply carpet backing between the metal panels of your car, and the plastic interior panels. Stuff it in there. Glue it up. Whatever it takes to pack it in. This helps with rattling, and helps with 'air born' noise as SS calls it.

If you want to get anal, do both methods. Mass load and stuff the panels with carpet backing or closed cell foam. I would.
