Tribal half arm sleeve... Gay or Not?

my opinion? tribal tattoos are lame and played out. you might as well get barbed wire while you're at it.

but at the same time, not everybody likes my tattoos either, so if you're happy with it that's all that matters.

i've only ever seen one tribal tattoo i liked, and it was on george clooney in From Dusk Til Dawn, and it went up his neck.

there are 3 tattoos from movies that i think are incredible. But i think the only reason i like that tattoo so much is because even when he's wearing his nice suit coat and the white T underneath, you can see it creeping up his neck. so if you're not going to take it that far it wouldn't be the same.

I never had a tat or piercing since I don't like needles in the slightest. However I like it when someone else does and the wilder they get the better in my book. They're saying "Look at me!" and also "I'm doing it my way!" as far as I'm concerned.

If the current consensus of a style is that "it's gay", it probably is. Tat styles from World War II would be as passe as biker tats from the Sixties or these tribal tats today. Ask your tattooer what's hot for now and be ready to look out of date in another 5 to 10 years...LOL! Complement the look with whatever works for piercings these days. Later on you can always leave the jewelry off and cover the tat up with clothing if you located it right in case you find yourself out of step with the times or your feelings regarding body mods change.

My father had a tiny tat and he regretted it his entire life. That was his take on tats.

If you're happy with whatever it is you like and everyone in the world hates it, then go for it because the world you live in is gonna romp you, stomp you and grind you up whether you stand out or are just in the way of whatever random crap is coming down the pike. As Frank Sinatra said, I did it my way...and give the rest of 'em a big F-U for good measure.

Tribal tattoos are the scourge of the ink world nowadays. God forbid you go to an ink convention or somewhere with some quality artists, because you'll be treated like a tard.

Put some thought (and some cash) into it. Tattooing is definitely not something to cheap out on or to get something that "looks cool."
