Treo

as i said tho, you wouldn't really gain anymore output and compromise the integrity of the amp. but try it and see if you wish. keep an eye on it, and if it starts getting pretty warm/hot, i'd turn it off.
Hmm, well I dont want to pay for it and not end up using it. Id rather be safe in the first place. I sent Treo an email, hopefully they will be able to answer the question. I ask because there are many amps out there that may go down to 2 ohms or 1 ohm, but can actually be ran at .5 as you mentioned and some at .25. I heard the IA 20.1 can go down to .08 ohms for burps.

yeah, but then there's the amps (zx2500.1) that can go past 2 ohms or they'll be fried. but that's another reason i'm getting a 20.1. so i can have all that power on tap when i need it. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

Yep, thats why i wanna double check and make sure. Otherwise id stick with the Orion 2500d. Don't get me wrong i'm pretty sure its a **** good and solid amp. I havent tested it out yet since my sub wont arrive till tomorrow. And I know the DD 9515 can take 3-4k rms daily. I'm tryin to get into the 150's off that single sub.

with your current amp, it'll take .5 daily. the orion will put out more than the treo will..why you downgrading? sounds like you'd eitehr want a powerbass xa3000d or 2 amps per sub

I heard @ 1 ohm the Treo will 3000w, the orion does 2500. I'm horrible with wiring, but is it possible to wire a dual 2 to .5 ohms? From what i thought it could go down to 1 ohm or 4 ohm and it would be kinda pointless to wire at 4 ohm. I was thinkin of 2 amps for the sub but money is an issue at the moment. Still lookin for amps for my mids and tweeters and lookin for tweeters, as well as some 1/0 wiring.

as far as i kno the 1500.1 does 1500 @ 2ohms and 3000w @ 1ohm and the 750.1 does 750 2 2ohms and 1500 @ 1ohm, yes dual 2ohm coilds is either 1ohm or 4ohms, you would need 2 dual 2ohm subs or one dual 1ohm sub to get .5ohm

No - a single DVC 2 Ohm driver cannot be wired to a 1/2 Ohm by itself.

4 Ohms with the coils in series and 1 Ohm with the coils in parallel.

Edit: skmfkr beat me to it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

thats what i thought. **** i wish i had dual 1 coils

Do you know how stable that treo amp would be to run @ 1 ohm? I want it to be safe enough for daily driving for several hours, volume at 3/4 (i probably wont do it but just wanna take precautions if i do)

I just contacted treo. They said the amp is rated at 1500@ 2 ohms and 3000 @ 1 ohm, both at 14.4V. They do not recommend running it at .5 ohms. Just thought I'd let anyone curious know.
