i dunno bout 5K.. but i know some treo's can take a beatin... i've got an 18" ssx sittin in my basement.. havent even tried it out yet... in a box ready to go

3K will be OK. 5K on a burp might not agree w/it to much, but on that note I always used a rule (used by some) that for a burp, twice the RMS rating is OK. So at 2500 wrms ~ to 5000 watts for a burp.

I use 2 TREO SSi12's but I'm set up for SQ.

16,000 watts worth of amps does not necessarily mean the subs saw 16000 watts, especially 'daily'. I wont even bother doing the math to figure the current draw to generate 16000 watts, lets just say you didnt have enough alternator to cover it. So then I will never catch you stating you're running the advertised power at a certain ohm load to a pair of subs.

my ssx's took power great, they are super power hungry though.

They work in smaller enclosures than any other 18 I know of too.

Had a bad experience with Treo service though
