Treo Power Handling

Might be purchasing two 15" SSi this weekend, just have a question. They are rated for 750 watts rms, but will they be able to take 1250 rms daily? I don't want to run them conservatively, so if I'm gonna have to watch the volume knob or worry about frying any coils I'd rather spend my money elsewhere. Thanks.

i'm putting the rated 750 to my ssi 10 and i plan on giving it about 1200+ with a kicker zx1500 eventually cause i know it can take more and get louder. the dust cap gets just slightly warm to the touch when beating on it with 750 but it's never smelled or smoked or anything like that.

i read somewhere on here that a guy was putting 1200 each to a pair of the tsx's daily which are only rated at 500 and they took it no problem so i think the ssi should take at least that.

ideally i'd like to run 3 off 2500 watts, but i can only find two ssi's atm. thanks for your input tcguy85.
no problem. i really like my ssi and highly recommend it. but it kinda lacks in the upper end. i have mine crossed at 63 hz cause it doesn't like anything very high at all. the lower the note the better and louder it plays it. maybe more power and a little EQing would help me.

and byt he way the only time those subs will ever see the max amount of power is when ur amp is at full tilt. i prefer using more wattage than the rated for the sub, gives you headroom for dynamic music.

thats exactly why i want to put the kicker zx1500.1 on mine. they end up putting about around 1700-1800watts rms at 2 ohms but i'll set the gain for about 1200 or so and i'll have a bunch of headroom.

That would be me. Treo subs are highly underrated. My amp is actually capable of 3000w But I never had them full bore. They took 1200 a piece like a champ. Never got warm, and could easily take more. I dont think I would put quite more than 1500w To the TSX's, But I bet your 10" SSi could take 1000 no problem, but just be careful with 1200. I've been trying to sell my TSX's here. I sold one locally. I have a BTL 15 coming now.
