i admit, at first i thought it was gonna be really cheesy. I mean, like starship troopers cheesy. I thought their would most likely be bad acting, bad voice overs, and just a bad director.

But when i learned Steve Spielberg was gonna be the producer, and i actually SAW the trailer.

Man this makes me want to bust out my old toy boxes from the attic and take these fuggers out again. I've also got the original cartoon movie and a few seasons on DVD around somewhere.

These were like my fav toys / show growing up. Megatron was a big gun that would transform and his #2 guy would shoot him (the dumbass jet guy). But in the movie Megatron almost dies and is recycled by the planet looking thing. I think he comes back as a Tank or a Jet.

But also Optimus Prime dies in the original show, so the whole thing seems to not make sense.

yeah, i LOVE transformers, when i was a kid and now! i have EVERY cartoon episode plus the cartoon movie. for some reason i downloaded it a LONG time ago and burned it on dvds haha!

yeah, the #2 guy was Starscream. i really like him and Soundwave (the guy with the cassettes in his chest) Starscream and Megatron were always fighting to be the leader and there smart remarks to each other were humerous in the cartoon!

however, i know everyone thinks the movie will be awesome, but i think it will **** compared to the original series. of course the special effects will rival ANY movie. but it seems to be hard to tell them apart except Optimus. call me corny, but the simple colorful cartoon was easier to distinguish characters and stuff. i guess i just like a long series of a story line than 90 minutes of explosions. just my opinion

also, i think the movie will leave out a lot of charaters that were important in the cartoon. and i hope their voices arent gay! i think the robots dont speak in the trailers so we dont know what they'll sound like.

Hollywood is ALAYS remaking old classics. easy buck!! next it will be Voltron or G.I Joe. He-Man would be an option too. Skeletor rules!!

I saw a trailer last night where Bumblebee was talking to the dude that buys him...voice sounded okay, I reckon, but it was deep. Bumblebee's voice in the original cartoon was kind of high-pitched and a bit whiny.

I too loved the original cartoon. Not too much a fan of the bastardizations that came later (Optimus...well..Primal...a gorilla and not a semi?!? Wtf is that?) but they appealed to some, I suppose.

I'm a bit of a purist, I guess, and though the movie looks like it will "look" outstanding before I even see the movie (and I plan to) I'm a bit doubtful.

Bumblebee a Camaro rather than a VeeDub???

Who handles action well, and puts the story of anything as the last priority it seems like to me. (except the island, but even that was handled kind of carelessly in the story).

I want to see it, but seeing all the transformers changed again kind of taints my taste.

I still have my G1 optimus prime toy from when i was 5 or so //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif hes torn up but is still together.

Transformers never had too strong a story, but changing it at all makes it something completely different then.

But heres to hopin its good.

yeah, exactly!

im a purist, but these days the movies focus on gettin the masses to the movie theater and most of the time, shy away from what made it famous and their story plots of old. mostly lots of explosions with some hot chick and a dumb kid who acts goofy and puts him in a comedic role somewhat. in the trailer, the girl seems to be an expert with engines in one scene , whatever ???//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif (not that there arent any good women mechanics out there)

and yeah Bumblebbes voice, if deep like you said, should be more high-pictched and youthful rather than a voice of a villian. and it should be VW bug. but i LIKE the camero!!
