So i have this ticking noise that comes and goes...seems only to be present after some type of highway driving. Noise comes from the drivers side rear wheel, and subsides with medium to heavy braking, only to come back after no brakes are applied

the other thing is, the noise isnt there all the time and the noise also goes away after the car "cools down".

Its a ticking noise, cylical, that goes with the pace of the wheel not the engine.

its been to the mechanic (still under warranty so its a chevy dealer) 3 times and they cant replicate the noise because by the time its up on a lift its gone.

I also had a friend get under the car and listen to it and when the noise isnt there everything else checks out fine.

Thoughts?

thanks for some updates guys...the noise comes and goes mostly after highway driving....not a rock or pebble or nail. Had the truck up in the air 3 times to check.

Not a wheel bearing it is a solid axel in the rear.

Truck is a 2008.

Brake wear tab i have not heard of yet. I told the service guy about how the noise temporarily subsides under braking when moving at a decent pace. I hope there gonna take apart the brake and check everything out.

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif you do have bearings in the rear. i just checked

am i taking you correctly that it continues to make the clicking noise after the vehicle is parked and off?
no, doesnt even make it all the time when driving. Seems to only happen after highway driving, and then usually it goes away by the time i get off the highway and cruise around the city streets for a few.

Its almost like something is heating up in the brake when driving fast and starts ticking.

Wheel bearings bruh
I told them to check the rear wheel bearings and they came back with like 3 guys telling me there was no such thing on an AWD TBSS. Is there some way i can prove to them they are wrong?

any other input....i am dropping the car off tuesday night so they can have it a few days while im out of town. Id love to have something for they to look at specifically.
