trade PG x600.1 for Hifonics bx1500d?

I've got a PG x600.1 that I've got running my subs right now, and I do like it, but I would like a bit more power. I've got an offer to trade it for a Hifonics BX1500d, and I have no experience with Hifonics products. From reading on the forum it sounds like they are OK, but not anything special.

The 1500d is rated at 1000w at 2ohm, does it do its rated power? The x600.1 is putting about 380w to each of my rl-i8s right now, but I'd like to put about 500w to each one, and I'm running them at a 2ohm load so I need an amp that will put out a solid 1000w at 2ohm (or more would be better, for future upgrades).

Would you guys take this trade or should I hold out for something better? I'd really like something along the lines of an orion 2500d (obviously wouldn't be a direct trade lol) so I can have plenty of power when I want to go to something like 2 15" Qs in a bigger vehicle....

can't run it at 1 ohm, both drivers are single 4ohm

It will be 200 watts more, but i wouldnt trade a pg amp for that hifonics. Yes its a few hundred more watts, but a downgrade in quality. I would look at getting another amp in general, or just stick with what you have.
