right now I am runnig a kicker comp in a ported box with about 200 watts and it is just not cutting it. i want a lot more spl but i don't have a money tree like some people on this forum. i have narrowed my search down to either a single 12in type r or a 12in 3004spl in a ported box that i already have (2.25^3ft. @ 38hz.) i will be running these on a directed 1500d. would either on of these get pretty loud or should i try 2 12in speakers which will cost be a little more that i have to spend. any other suggestions for a good 300 dollar amp and sub setup?

the newer comp vrs get pretty loud for a budget sub

You can pick up two newer Comp Vr's(last I checked) on Ebay for somewhere around 150 bucks, that would be my route I'd go, if I were you. If not, you could do a single 15" Comp VR in a ported enclosure, sound pretty nice.

yeah im looking aroung they are pretty cheap. i just am not wanting to build a new box i just got finished with the one i have now.

Yea most likey,but if can afford 2 premier is would go with them the are suppose to have very good spl as well as sq.But them cvr's have some kick for the money.

Agree for the most parts, the Kickers dont sound horrible by any means, and any way you go, for the most part, you're going to be looking at either a new box, or spending some extra money

a 12" SX or RLP or Mag would be nice

i have been looking and i don't know if i could beat 2 12in compvrs for 150 shipped and the directed 1500d for 150ish shipped. 300 total not counting box and that should get pretty loud i think.
