torn tinsel fixable?

as you can see it tore RIGHT at the connector. I figure it should be fixable.. clean out the little bits left and solder it back. will the TINY difference in length make a change enough in impedance between the both? now then a negative on one side tore and the positive on the other blew.. should I solder a little extra wire so it is not tight and tear again?

why did it happen? its not on much power.. hell its still STIFF as can be.. stock wiring.. its the old 3 lug btls on 2500rms tops!!

 
not 100% sure but isn't this a common problem with the older btl's. like not the exact problem, but a problem with the tinsels.
well they used to slap and if you can see in the pic there is a piece of felt... I personally think they aren't long enough but I don't feel like paying for a recone.

 
i think they SHOULD hook you up. if they dont.....we bash FI on here for horrible customer service!!
I don't think bashing is in need but I think since they acknowledged it a problem a deal should be in order.. IMO.. hell if there was a way to just replace the spider and tinsels.. I would
