torn spiders?

There you go telling us we don't know what we're talking about again. You have a serious problem accepting that other people know more than you. I know that there are people on this board who know a ton more than me and I also know there are people who don't know as much as me. If I know something is correct, I will stand up for it. You have a problem with somebody telling you that you are wrong and you can't back it up so you bullshit.
It's sad that you are this prideful on the anonymous internet. You must be completely annoying in person; I wonder how many true friends (friends who don't talk shit about you behind your back) you really have.

Also, there is NO WAY IN HELL that you can assume how much power an amp is putting out by ear. That is impossible for any human being to know by ear. And yes, that wimpy amp rated at 1000rms MIGHT be able to put out over 1500watts rms but it will not be a pure sine wave.
yeah thanks for that i'm so hurt i'm crying.... reguardless of the jibes.... he is NOT getting 1500 out of those amps playing music... i really don't know how to say it plainer

there is not a mature response to an immature statment... with that said i don't think the forum is a place to brag about how many friends we have, nor even who people are in person... since that would be completely impossible for someone to conclude with only the account of a persons car audio knowledge... but you people, it seems, have no hesitation to judge character by A charateristic... wow this gets more like a psycologist forum every day

this was my suspicion the subs playing slighty different at those levels could really be screwing with mechanical opperation, maby at one point makeing one or the other to over-excurt (watever) even when he's not getting 3000 watts out of his (2) middle-line 1000 watt amps, lol
WE NEVER SAID HE'S GETTING 3000WATTS OUT OF HIS MIDDLE LINE 1000WATT ALPINE AMPS!!!!

We're saying he was probably clipping the hell out of his amps, with the gains at 3/4

well i am saying he is not even getting 2000 out of them, if that be the case... clipping shouldn't be an issue

made rtard of the month 3rd time in a row, congrats //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

What is the question you are asking exactly?
if haveing the subs in the same enclosure with different amps would cause the spiders to tear?... i added the note about power because i know what the subs are supposed to sound like and all that and i can say with certainty that he isn't overpowering them unless he is getting some sort of power surge or something like that... but his amps are NOT set to be over-powering in fact he was under-powering them most of the time

You really don't understand electronics.

You really don't understand proper gain setting.

You really don't understand the term clipping.

You really don't understand much about +12v.

i don't really know where this came from...i cannot win for losein...

i ask some simple questions and i get this

i'm argueing that i know than everone here? i ask a simple question and allready have several people goin... "haha we know something he doesn't" lets flame!

i guess i'm just retarded but it just seems unlikely that an amp rated to put out 1000 watts, set at less than 3/4 gain would tear spiders on a sub that should handle about 1500... in an over-sized box too... i don't know what he has boosts set to but it didn't sound like he used them, it was quiet
so let me get this straight.

amp is rated at 1000w RMS, gains "set to 3\4". so how do you know the gain is set at the correct voltage of the headunits pre-out? did you read the manual? did you match it to the listed voltage from the headunit? did you use a multimeter and the gain setting formula to see how many watts it actually puts out? does not sound like you did?

a sub that should handle 1500w. lets see now. i see the type x listed as 500~1000w RMS, do you see that too? and what? in an oversized box too? is that supposed to mean something? because from what i understand, having a larger box than recommended (again, recommended sealed enclosure size is .65~1.25 cubic feet, about .5 cubes too big) lowers the mechanical power handeling of a speaker. thus, the spider is moving too far for the size of the box and power it is getting. that 500~1000 watt power rating means, larger box size = lower power suggestion, and vice versa.

so a .65 cubes, they recommend closer to 1kw. and the 1.25 range, they recommend close to the 500w range.

so it looks to me like your buddy is giving them twice the power then they are recommended to recieve in that specific enclosure.

happy days.
