Has anyone played this yet?

My little brother e-mailed me the image, but i'm too lazy to get up to play.

Can anyone tell me if it's worth my time?

I kinda lost interest in the THPS series after THPS4, when the game left the 2:00 time limit-based gameplay in the dust, in favor of a more story-based approach.

And WTF ever happened to the sweet skating videos? Those were the coolest part of the original game!! And aren't there even still "secret tapes" even tho there's no videos to unlock? C'mon........................

Someone let me know if it's any good!

Thanks.

eh at first with the "focus mode" or whatever you call it i thought it would be ok...but to score what you need to in some of the "contests" you need to do the same old crazy combos that made me hate tony hawk...IMO wait for the game called SKATE...its as close to real skateboarding as a game will ever get where you can only do like a single kickflip over a stair set...and you have to do some footwork with the joysticks to do ollies and such

that's what i figured

i really liked the first 4, cause it was in-and-out hit it and quit it style gaming

i hate all the bs storyline/conversations/having to find objectives/shopping???? that they've added to it

same thing that ruined need for speed underground 2, and any games in the need for speed library after it

i hate stories

gonna try some game called "thrillville" instead. it's crazy racetracks and stuff, along the lines of the oldschool 'whiplash' game, or the pc game "trackmania" if you're familiar with either of those

i like games that don't require me to dedicate 2 hours to just to enjoy it

i just got done palying through the tutorials, and there's a LOT more tricks than thps4

they changed doing a manual from tapping up,down to simply pressing square, tho, so i find myself accidently landing tricks into a manual, which is a little frustrating

you can now wallride, and ollie OFF the wall (a "wallie"?) and then grind on TOP of the wall, which is pretty sick

i think the gameplay of the tony hawk games has only gotten better with each game.

i've played every one since THPS to THUG2 but haven't had a chance to play the newest one yet, but from what i hear, it's not all that great.

as for the story modes... in thug 1 and 2, you can opt not to play story mode, you can also choose classic mode if you'd rather go that way.

as for the videos, you still can unlock videos, you just don't have to find secret tapes(not that finding the secret tapes in tony hawk 1 had anything to do with unlocking videos)

they only thing i haven't liked about thug 1 and 2 is the scores you have to reach are getting insanely ridiculous but there were bugs in THUG 1 and 2 where you can get in focus mode and it keeps replenishing, where as I heard in the new one that's not the case, so they fixed that problem.

just my .02

i have it for my 360. i've spent several hours playing the game at a time and not realize what time it was due to how into it i got. yeah the scores are getting rediculous, but the combos get pretty sick as well. i've nailed tricks by just pressing random buttons and arrows and gotten awesome scores. and you do get videos in this game as well. just requires you to unlock different areas, meet up with the pro skaters in the game, (which you get to demo with at least 1 of them). i love it. but it's the first one i've really sat down and actually played. the underground ones i sucked arse at so bad, i just kept bailing on purpose cuz i couldn't do anything right. IMO it's a good game. it's still fun. worth the $60 new (360 version)? personal preference i guess.

Sheww, lol! I hope I like it. I already think my girl got it for Christmas is why I asked. Thanks for the review.
