He means because when a sub gets DC voltage the sub doesn't move back and forth as much causing it to overheat. With more power you get more movement which equals more cooling of the coils. There is a limit to how much a sub can take even with clean power, but clipped power can be MUCH LOWER and blow subs. Thats why someone throwing 3000wrms can have theirs not blow on them, and someone with 1KW clipping can blow theirs. I was giving mine WAY more than 1KW of clean power and this sub can handle it just fine.
