to mesh or not to mesh

ok guys, trying to decide if i should mesh the subs. i might have to place things ontop of my box occasionally, so this would be for looks, but also for protection

If meshing means to put screens on them, then yes. Esp. if you already know you might put stuff on there.

It shouldnt as long as you make sure the sub wont hit at high excursion.

well its flush mounted, and the mesh would be ontop of that. would it hit higher than that? i could put it ontop of the second sheet if i figured a way to make it look good ontop

it will rattle. what you need to do is buy the mesh and then trim it with some of that black trim you can buy for car doors to prevent dings and trim out the mesh in that to prevent rattles.

imo thats kinda heavy, i don't think the woofers would "breathe" to well so to speak

They will be fine under that.

I have mesh grills on my IDQs that are removeble.

They hit just as hard with or without them on.
