To kicker, 12's versus two Sa 8 v2's

i will tell you the v.2's love a lot of port area, which for small airspace means a lot of port, not a bad thing but it can make for some pretty big 8's boxes, that said, the awe factor of "thats only 2 8's!!!" is well worth any extra space needed to be given up. my daily box for my pair of v.2's is 1.5 net and close to 4.8 gross once the port is on. running them on a saz 1500 at .5, they get flat nasty, does a 142 at the headrest (with a 40 amp fuse on the amp) at 30hz... fun little setup.

You're looking at roughly the same amount of air space between a 12" and the pair of 8's ported at 35hz. It's up to you weither you want a single sub, two subs, or even three of the e8v3's that'll release mid jan. You'll have to think about it along the way. Now IMO I'd go with 2 of the sa8v2's and a box from Starr mountain then be done. I'm very pleased with my system and everyone who's listened to it are amazed on how it sounds.

I would prefer the SA8's personally, but it depends more on what you want to see back there in all honesty as the differences may be minimal with the exception of durability(I think the SA wins there).

i have mine, skar ma-8's, in 1.8 with a 3x11.5 aeroprt for about 32hrtz, they do pretty good.

Woofercooker has older SA-8's for sale cheap! I bought one to play with. Got about 800 rms on it @ 2ohm. Little prick drills pretty well! I think the box is about .75 cubic tuned around 32 hrz. I inverted the sub too and it helped. FUN!

I talked to a sundown dealer from the website and he said that the eights do not do well in inverted is that true post your experience with that Please because I wanted to run one V 2 inverted because they look so cool

You could do a panel in plexi to show it off.

I don't see why they wouldn't work inverted though.

Subs can be inverted or installed the regular way and play just fine in a proper box and power. The only thing different is the way it's wired up.

Maybe cause Im in a hatch with the back end dyno matted? Its pretty impressive though.. I wouldnt just say so to just say. Amp is an old school Cadence Z1200. If your in Lansing Id be more than happy to let you hear!
