I am having a little problem but not major yet.On my Powercore capacitor on the b- terminal the plastic on my ground wire is starting to get black(maybe burning).I do have alot of amperage flowing through the car so it might be getting a little hot.Should it be of concern right now.More info if needed thanks:confused://content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif:D:cool://content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif

i wouldnt use it......caps are not needed if you have a electrical that can keep up with your equipment........and they really are a extra drain on a already weak electrical system

Actually, if being used as a power conditioner, it's not a bad thing to have, change the wire. Maybe get a thicker one (wire)?

As long as your electrical is holding up and it's not being used as a bandage.

It is already in the car and also it will be a pain in the a s s!! to fix it at this moment,to some it may be a waste but in my case their is no reason to take the capacitor out, the way the system is set it would be a pain to remove.

Rasta...... do this.

read the sticky on how to do the big 3. Turn your car on and read the voltage with the cap on and copy it down. Then take it off, do the big 3 upgrade and see what it is then. 30-40 dollars for wire plus a fuse holder beats a cap any day. But try using heavier gauge wire if you can. You might have 8 gauge I bet, try using 4.

Edit: still do the big 3, keep the cap and watch your voltage go up.

Except its a 15farad cap so its ESR is going to be far too high to be of any use for this purpose not to mention not sized properly to the inductance of the power wire...

Fancy car audio caps are a waste of money Period.

@OP What size wire are you running?

it's getting black bcause the connection is poor. Make sure the wire is crimped tight on the connector and the connector is firmly screwed down to the cap

very true, these caps are carbon filt and have esrs vs the lower esr electrolytic capacitors

these are basically useless
