To amp speakers or not to amp, that is the question!

I currently have a bazooka el460 amp running my 4 car speakers. I also have a seperate amp running a 12" sub.

I already have everything hooked up. Here are the two main issues I am having:

1. My speakers make a pop when the head unit changes stations or powers off. I think this is damaging the speakers. Note: It has been doing this with the two head units I have put in which leads me to believe bazooka amp is not good ince I dont get a pop from the kenwood amp running my sub.

2. Also, it seems to me that my speakers are louder on the left side then on the right side. even though the front two speakers are the same. However, the back two are different, 1 is a 100w rms kappa and the other is a polk 60w rms speaker. However I hear differences in the two sides even when I have my fade on the front speakers, what could be the cause of this?

This is what I am debating between, its possible that the cause of the speakers popping and the speakers playing louder on the left side is because of the bazooka amp. The bazooka amp is putting out 65rms per channel. However the HU I have, a DEH-p6500, puts out around 18w rms per channel if I used it.

I have 2 audiobahn 100w rms in the front and a 100w kappa and 60w polk in the back.

Should I just forget the bazooka amp and hook up the speakers straight to the HU or should I try to get rid of these problems by getting another amp to run the 4 speakers? Basically what I am asking is, when you have a sub, do you really need an amp running your 4 speakers even though those speakers require 100w rms? I know this is long, but any expert advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Get a new amp, don't run different speakers int eh back, I think that is wahtsgiving you the illusion of one side being louder than the other. Check out profiles at http://www.thezeb.com

well the thing is, Ive faded to the front, put my ears against each one of the front speakers and heard a significant difference.

I'd just say get a new amp, I have a feeling htat bazooka really isn't putting out much mroe power than your HU would. And god only knows how horribly awry they can go.

but u r saying that i should get an amp over going straight to the head unit? That the sound quality would be that much better assuming I get a good amp?

Bazzoka is fairly low end stuff
