TN 1200d or PP 1000d

Trying to decide on an amp to power one 12" Type R DVC 2ohm in a sealed enclosure. The Sound Stream TN 1200d is $200 and I found a Precision Power power series 1000d for $360. Is it worth spending the extra money for the PP amp. Also more than likely I will be using PP power series amps for my mids im still goin back and forth between the PP amps and the SS TN line. Anyone using the TN line for mids and wanna share some thoughts. Ill be spending about the same for the 2 mid amps on either of the two lines. It basically comes down to SQ which im sure the PP amps are better but ill be losing the efficiency of using D class in the Nano line. Any thoughts or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Im ready to order these amps but just cant pull the trigger yet!

P1000.1 and TN1.1200D are the same amplifier internally, and they make the same amount of power. The TN line from SS and the Phantom line from Precision Power are siblings. There is no performance difference at all between comparable models. The full range amplifiers are great for the money and they will not add or subtract anything from the music.

Precision Power Power series has been discontinued, while the Phantom series is still in production. Keep that in mind in case you ever need them replaced.

PP power series 1000d is the same as the SS TN 1200d??? I think u thought I meant Phantom and TN line I know they are the same. The Reference line is the sister to the Power line. I have considered that those two lines are discontinued. Im just unsure of the TN or Phantom line. I know Ref and Power lines are top of the line. Im probably just goin to get the PP power series for my mids class A/B amps and go with the TN 1200d for my sub. I usually like to keep my amps all the same line but for $160 bucks I can live with it. The TN1200d should preform close if not as good as the PP 1000d and at least all my amps will be the same color.

It sounds like you've made up your mind. There's nothing wrong with the TN or Phantom amplifiers in terms of performance, and if you like the looks then go for it. I didn't know Reference and Power Class are sister lines. They use completely different layouts. Anyway, I know amplifiers don't all sound the same, but I'm running full range Class D. Maybe you'll like the Power Class amplifier on your mids more than Phantom or TN, but you wouldn't know it without comparing for yourself.
