Tinting

I know there's a lot of tint threads but theyre all pretty long so I decided to just start a new one to save time.

I gota 78 el camino and was going to get 20% tint on my two front windows. Then 15% on the real small 2 back windows and the very back window. I got an estimate of $215 from one guy. He said that the back window was going to be hard because the curve out. This is a pretty reasonable price right?

its only like $150 complete.. depending on % and # window.. 5 for 150 at 35%

my local shop would get 180-200 for that tint job.

it depends on the quality of tint for one thing. here around me it cost about 225 for 5 window car job with a lifetime warrentee on the tint. so if it changes color i can take it back and they will redo the car for free. yea u can pay less but be ready for your tint to change colors, like purple.

He is right about the curve being harder to tint thus a higher price but that price seems on the high side.

price seems ok as long as they are using a metallized window film , whatever you do dont let them install just a dyed film because it will turn purple in no time. that back window will be difficult so take it to a confident shop cause you want it done right the first time...

they charge about that here u should get a warranty included in that price to

the shops here run a base price of about 180 canadian i imagine a large window like that and the quality of the tint make it average here. but it doesnt hurt to shop around

It's hybrid film. It's mostly Metal and some Dye added. I think I'll be getting it done by him next week just because he's been doin this for 15 years and knows what hes doing.
