Name a sub (one 10" or 12" sub) that will be able to run off of this power for daily usage.

Whats up fellas, its been a while since i've been around the board. But i am in need of suggestions and help. I currently have 2 12" AA Arsenals connected to a Hifonics 1606d (sealed in a civic). Well i want to go smaller. I want one 10" or 12" sub ported (remember its in a civic, so something that doesnt take up much space). Mainly... i want people to say... **** thats one sub? I have $400 and buying used is acceptable. So name me a good sub and an amp to run with it.

(I was thinking as 12" FI Q ported but not sure what amp to run with it... but if you know a good 10" please suggest). I mainly listen to rap / hip hop.

Box wise im looking for something that can be ported cause i want it to hit, but nothing too huge... remember its a civic and the trunk is mad small.

the BTL that was mentioned would be a good option. i bet if you searched the forum for 10 minutes, you'd find 15 subs recommendations to choose from.

Your civic handles the 1606 fine? Can you run it at full tilt, ~1400 RMS, without dropping below 11.5-12. That is very key, because if you can't then you either need to set the gain with a DMM to lower, or get a new amp. If you fail to do so, you could very easily blow your hifonics.

That is crucial^ because I would recommend different subs. If you run the hifonics at 1000 RMS I say 12" Q ported, or Icon. If you have 1500 RMS I say, 12" HDC, BL, or SX ported. The last 3 will also require a little bit bigger boxes though too.

Honestly guys, im not sure wtf your talking about when you talk about RMS and vaults and stuff. My car dims like crazy when subs are turned up? But i was thinking about downgrading, but was thinking maybe it was better to just get new subs, but what would you suggest for a new package? meaning sub = one 10/12" and an amp to push it?

The smaller the better, but i want to port it for that extra depth

you could do an FI BL 10 in 1.25 cubes ported and keep your amp. that would be good wang from a small box.
