Time for spring detail! Bought bunch of products *pics*

what zaino products did you use on that mustang though?
Clay bar, AIO, and a coat of show polish

And I would be weary of taking advice from someone who says that they put on one coat of "polish." //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif Zaino does not make a WAX. All the protection products they sell are polishes. Don't believe me? Call Sal and let him know that you are using his "wax". I made that mistake once.........

The nice thing about zaino is its durability. If applied correctly it will last all year.
The best thing about zaino is that if you use their car soap, the car will look freshly detailed after every wash. The **** is just plain amazing.

Zaino FTW!

In all reality, Zaino isn't that much more expensive. You use very VERY little product with each application.

I do not like meguairs I prefer mothers. Also you need to pick up a mothers clay bar kit and after washing it clay it before you put down wax. The clay will take all the bad stuff out of the paint that has been gathering there for god knows how long. And it will come out like this.

^^you got a nice result thats for sure.. especially when using some OTC products.

BTW, I already have gotten claybar and I plan on using it as well.. thanks for your advice

You clay then wax? Thats not good, your missing a few things. After you clay the car, you need to compound and polish the paint. Wax doesnt make a car shine, its the polishing of the paint. Wax just protects and enhances the shine.

This is after claying then polishing:

Oh please dont start with all that BS it is clay than wax plain and simple done and over. Been doing this stuff for 5 years now and I know what works.
Lol well for 5 years you have been doing it wrong. You clay to pull any embedded dirt out of the paint. After that you need to polish the paint to take out any surface defects, such as hairline scratches or spiderwebs. Sure you can wax it right after wards, but your doing a half ass job. That's why your paint still looks kind of dull, it needs to be polished. Go to any detailing forum like autopia.org or autogeekonline.net and tell them polishing is BS. You will get laughed and flamed out of the forum.

Took a look at the site. At first, I thought you were just confusing the terms. But the fact that Zainos is calling a protection product a polish is bizarre. It's also strange because they have paint leveling products that they also call polishes. There are protection products out there other than waxes, but a true polish is not one of them.

Yeah probmxstyle is right.. Polish is deisgned to compound and polish the paint which will have the paint "evened out" and then apply wax to seal the paint and give it an additional shine..

therefore polish is the key to restoring your vehicle's paint and shine

Nothing wrong with going straight from clay to wax. You're telling me I need to compound and polish my entire car EVERY time I clay it (which is once a year?). Get real, man. Compounding involves removing a thin layer of clear coat, and doing it once a year will eventually destroy your paint job. A car that's properly polished shouldn't have to be polished for years, assuming its taken care of properly.

Maybe I am misunderstanding you?

This is a big problem among plenty of products that are on market..

Just like Turtle Wax ICE, they dont have any product that is labeled as "wax", instead they use the term "polish" which makes everything more confusing IMO..

I think they are afraid that the term "wax" is going to steer customers away towards another products for some reason.. Normally customers are looking for polish because it IS what they really need for their vehicle's paint so plenty of manfacturers decide to call some of their products "polish" instead of "sealant" or "wax" so that way it attracts customers.. That is my opinion..

You got a point, you dont have to polish every time.. BUT the correct way of restoring a vehicle's paint, you would need to polish it to compound the paint and even everything out on the paint..

Polish should be done once or twice a year IMO

i have used tons of detailing products and NONE, go on and come off easy and protect like poorboys..
Excellent products, for sure. Fairly priced, too.

No, compounding should NOT be done that often. Like I said before, if you wash, dry, and detail properly, you aren't going to be inducing many swirls into your finish. The right thing to do would be to use a chemical paint CLEANER once or twice a year if you want to maintain that polish-like shine. Only polish when it becomes necessary.

If you guys want a show down, You can use my car. Just give it back displaying your finest detail work.

Your right, compounding should not be done that often. But, claying should not have be done often either. I clay my car twice a year (end of the winter and before winter) and polish it twice a year at the same time. I don't do a real heavy duty compounding that often unless it needs it. Just a polish using a very mild abrasive.
