Time for a satellite upgrade.. Dish network Or Directv?????

I have direct now , but My promotional year is up, so I can cancel if I want, but dont know if Dish is any better.. Do you think if I called direct and said I was gonna switch they would give me a deal to keep me as a customer??

If not , I was wondering what Dish offered as far as HD channels , and the positives and negatives of both.. In general Im assuming they are both pretty close with maybe a few exclusive channels or something else.. So what do you guys think

i have directv, parents have dish

i unno really though, i like dish better for the fact that you can navigate in the **** menu FAST, directv is so **** slow.

Other then that, dish is cheaper i believe

Yea the direct menu is horseshit.. But has awesome HD channels and a few exclusives I like ( HDNEt being one of them ) .. Tough to tell Im trying to find a good NEW comparison of the 2 online, since they change things so quick

DirecTV FTW...been a subscriber since the mid 90's...Dish is crap in that they advertise cheaper prices for the same HD channels but what they don't tell you is that if you want to get ALL the same HD channels as DirecTV, it will cost you just as much.

My work uses dish, they charge for everything, directv seems to take care of their customers way better.

I was thinking about going to DirectTV (I have cable now). What turned me off of Dish was the fact that you had to get the biggest package in order to get Boomerang and NickToons. May sound dumb but those 2 channels play all the old great cartoons that I miss, lol.

Directv sent us a free hd dvr, and will give us upgrades every year or 2, Dish makes you may for any upgrade and i heard has fees to change your plan, and everything.

Well yeah they give you the unit for free (well I should say, let you borrow it) but then you have to pay an extra 10$ for HD service, and an extra 10$ for DVR service...freaking BS

the slow menu has to do with your reciver, not the dish

honestly they are the exact same, just charge different prices

I really dont like dishes menus though
