from what i read in the mtx manual its a compression circuit to eliminate clipping at high volume.

but the manual doesnt state which position is on and which is off.

so any help would be great.

lol. no but the button is hidden in a hole on the side panel. you have to use a pin to push it.

for anybody who ever searches for this question. here is the answer. In turns the compression circuit on and out turns it off.

kinda makes sense considering when you compress the button on a flashlight it turns the light on and when its not compressed it is off...
