Thumbs down to my RSD's!

your pretty much the only one to ever say that there has been a problem with the rsd comp set.
and it doesnt matter how long you have been installing audio. could have just been a simple mistake,

so you have been installing since you where 15? i doubt it.
Yea I've been running my RSD's since last September with 150wRMS per door and have had zero issues. I bottomed out my midbass with a really heavy techno track before the tweets showed any sign of fatigue. I would definitely call it user error or just a lemon. Maybe you don't think you clipped them, but you probably were clipping them HARD in order to kill them so quickly. Perhaps a low power break in period should have been exercised //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

There have been several guys reporting tweeters going out. I installed a set last year for a guy and the same thing happened after about 2 weeks and they were getting around 75watts RMS.

Does seem like a QC issue on some sets....

I was just giving my opinion. I don't care that they blew. I'm not rich, but upgrading to better speakers is a non-issue. I think some are getting their emotions too much involved in this post. I been installing since I was 16. I don't care if a million people ran 500 rms clean a side, that's not going to make my speakers come back to life.

that would be me. tweets went out.

if you have been installing for awhile you would be good enough to troubleshoot this issue. its very simple to single out whether its the speaker or the xover.

I've been running them for about 9 days and they sounded really good when they worked. I have 2 sets and one tweeter is blown. It could be a blown xover, but I really don't care which one it is. The bottom line is I have no tweeter. Another tweet is slowly going out. The other 2 tweets are good, but it's time to move on to a different set. I know for sure the other 2 tweeters will go out eventually. The mids are still good. There's no user error here and no clipping. IMO they just could not take the power. I gave them 100 watts rms to each side, a total of 400 rms for 2 sets. I think the Xenon tweeters were way better than these. They played strong and never blew. I'm not saying they're better, but I've ran some Kicker KS comps on the same power and never had a problem.

My whole right side blew out as well. Drivers side still worked perfectly but the passenger side stopped working. I was running them off a sax100.2 for about a week before this happened. Then I took them out of the doors and hooked them up directly to my amp and still no sound. But now I have a different component set in there and they sound better than the RSDs so oh well..
