thud when i change songs on a cd

i just put my new boston acoustics in and the hook up to the amp isnt perminant (yet need to relocate the amp) but when im skip tracks on my cd player the mids push real hard and make a thud sound. what do you think could be causing me noise?

Could be your grounding. A lot of people say that when they have this problem, then upgrade to a new HU, the problem goes away. I have had the problem, and found a better grounding spot, and that fixed it...

find one good grounding location. there is actually a thread on how to find a good grounding spot if you want me to dig it gor ya, and ground everything to that spot.

Hey, my friend has a similar problem with his Kenwood setup. His problem is that when he starts up his car (2000 Jeep GC) the subs make that thud noise, even though he has the volume on zero. He already has a custom Sony HU, anyone know what the problem could be? I think he said something about there being a short in the cable.

Its called turn on thump... Nothing uncommon about it. Nothing is shorted. Find a better ground spot. Or, if the problem continues (it isnt a "problem", doesnt hurt anything), you can get a turn on thump stopper on eBay. Not worth it though...

yeah im moving my sub from my trunk to where my back seat used to be so i think im going to try to reground it and ill use a volti meter to find a good ground

Well, ok, thanks for explaining that to me. He had told me it didn't start doing this until about 2 weeks ago and he's had the system for 6 months so I figured it was a "problem."
