three 12"s ??? 2 15's???

First of all, i guess i need to know if a 1ohm stable amp will handle a 1.34 ohm load??? My amp does 1200rms at 1ohm at 12.5v... my blazer is right around 14v normally... so anywhere from 11-1300rms watts

My sx does get very loud... but for whatever reason it doesn't handle the power well... my gain is set accurately (right around 3/8's), so i know clipping isn't an issue... and with deep bass notes that cause more excursion, the sub makes a pop noise... (only once in a while, and it is a used sub if that matters) my subsonic filter is set right around 28-29 (for a 35htz box)

Should i get three 500rms 12"s so that i know i don't have to worry about power handeling? If so, are the compvr's a good choice??? suggestions would be appreciated...

or two 15's that can handle 700-1000rms a peice???

I'm looking to get loud WITHOUT hurting my subs... SQL i guess is what i'm after...

my budget will be right around 250 shipped max for any of these options...

Are you *sure* your gain is set right? Counting bass boost and all that?

yo i have a question..........real quik.....my gain is about half way up...but my frequency is about 6/8 up....would that cause clipping?

Set your gain correctly, and you wont have to worry about it.

Second, what are you looking for in a sub stage? Only SPL, SQ, SQL????

Sounds like your sub is bottoming out. BTW I heard this from other people. Anyways Im not sure but the SX is recomended for a 2.2-2.5? enclosure. I see you have yours in a 4 cub ft box=more efficient. Instead of seeing 1200-1300wrms its probably performing like its gettin 2000 wrms or higher.

Well then, I would recommend (from word of mouth AND experience) Adire, RE, Orion, SS, Ascendan, ID, bla bla bla bnla bal.

Different wiring config, lower gains, take it easy more often, smaller box would be the biggest improvement, different amp, diferent sub....
