Thread you hate : Price a System : $600 For Speakers

Prepare for one of my long posts.

Ok I currently have a spare Clarion APA450watt Amp. I dont know if I'll keep it or not. My car has an 11 speaker infinity speaker system with a 360watt amp(Dont know per channel, rms or anything)

As it stands I'm not changing my head unit anytime soon. I plan on fabricating a good dvd/navigation unit or going a carpc route. So For now just speakers.

I'm looking to buy 3 Things Soon.

1 Set of components. $100-300 Dollar Range

2 12" Subs. $150-250. I was thinking Dual Apline Type-S's but I'm still unsure.

1 Set of 6x9's. $100ish range. I like rear fill and drive alot of ppl around.

I'd like tp spend around $600 for the speakers Listed above.

I'll need two good amps for the components and the subs(Or one really good one I guess). I was thinking $100-400 Per amp. I was looking at rockford and kicker.

Now for the sound I like. My tastes are hard to judge. I like everything from classical to rap. I don't like southern rap much though. I dont like country. Not a fan of jazz. Gospel or christian anything. I am more biased towards Hip-Hop/R&B. But I do like rock, alternative and so on. Hell I even listen to J-pop. Also a fan of Reggaeton.

I've been looking at every set of components under the sun.

Even tho I hear midbass is lacking I'm currently considering Diamond Audio Hex or D661s.

I'd prefer Silk tweets over metal ones. I'd prefer to buy my speakers from a major online retailer but its not set in stone if I could find a good deal on something I like. I can't really go out to listen to all these brands. Most generic stores here carry the same crap over and over again with the best being polk momo and infinity kappa. Theres a Audio shop near me that carries Mephis audio componants, and some other stuff. But there sound wall is all coaxials.

So whatcha recommend I get?

alpine type r's? or type x's

subs i'm about to sell my one resonant engineering sx 12 i don't give it too much power since i will get a $600 ticket if a cop hears my subs within 100 feet.

but from just what i hear from this one 12 will kill a apline type s's two 12's but yeah what is what i would do if i were you and i had a 600 spending limit.

u could get you a set of infinity perfects 12.1s for like $85 a piece off of ebay. Just the regular ones though not the expensive ones.

and a dual sub setup doesn't have anything to do with sq.

yeah two 12s have nothing to do with SQ. if you get one w7 forexample you won't get SPL and get SQ with two. if you buy one u will get SQ and if you buy two you will get SQ. SQ and SPL has to do with the subs. not how many u buy

everyones always like u got 2 12's? well my sx will kill most two 12's for the price. i bought my sx for 250 and i know if you get something like mine I.E Alpine Type S, my one sub will be better then the two that you got. i know this since my friend has 2 12's(alpine type s) and i got one 12(sx)

I'm not saying that A Dual sub setup would sound better SQ Wise. I'm saying I dont want one speaker that "Bumps like crazy". I'd "prefer" a dual sub setup though. Why? Because I have the room. Whatever I get Single or Dual. Is going to be based on a good sounding sub, in the 10-12" Range.

I say SLC265's, SL6x9.... and I highly recommend the new Diamond Audio D1 subs-we just did a pair in my brothers 4runner sealed with only 180rms each running the whole system off an Arc 4ch and it get pretty f'n loud and sounds really nice. He runs Rainbows up front too.

well i've decided to deaden my doors before buying any speakers. so I got like 3 weeks before i start buying speakers.

Ordered 80sqft of Second Skin Damplifier

Should be enough for 2 layers on front doors and maybe one layer on rear doors. Might do the Trunk isntead of rear doors.

Buy my Alpine Type x comps. Very nice drivers with a VERY adjustable x-over. BNIB, I bought them last week, but now I don't need them.

Update :

Thinking about delaying the 6x9's and going with a more expensive componant set. Germaniums? I dunno. I might end up with the SLC's or the Diamonds for now.
