those of you with kids...

1 daughter age of 17months i got no clue. This age seems hard shes already got a TON of cloths and toys. She will prob just get some more cloths toys and some bonds or something I cant see spending alot at this age for a ton of toys she wont be playing with in 4 months. I am tryn to work on getting her a new xbox 360 or a depost on a ps3. Also some new subs. But g/f isnt buying it. I am thinking for her future when she gets a car

Two Girls 3 & 6.

Pixter, Dolls, Clothes maybe a DVD or two. May sound a bit cheesie IMO but if thats what they want, so be it.

Wish I could get them more 'cause my kids are the best kids in the world. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I have a friend who litterally lives in a trailer, pays $400/mo lot fees, has 3 kids, working wife, cheap cars, cheap AV, barely making it, but every holiday spends over $2000 on the kids for crap gifts that collect dust in the kids' rooms until he eventually thows them in the dumpster. Some people are trying to make up for "something" I guess. But, I still don't believe someone can buy parenthood. For a young kid some times the best gift is a cardboard box and time with Dad. I mean, really. When they get older and "cool" that's when it's really tough. I feel for those parents, as I'll soon be there myself. You can only do what you can do, and beyond that, it's really no thang.

i'd buy each of my kids their own systems...network their system with mine and whoop their collective ***** via system link.
bingooooo ....but in reality its the only real way to keep the peace at my house is for each (including me) to have their own

i think if u have to buy ur kids presents to make them happy, u shouldnt be a parent. im sure all of you hear are great fathers and im not speaking about yall. im sayin if u dont spend time with your kids because u work 95 hour weeks and crap trying to make it so they have those things, u need to stop that, work 60-70 and downscale your lifestyle. its not always about your belongings, but the time spent with the ones you love. i believe if i had my own family, i could be happier with a lot of time and 40 grand a year, than barely see my kids and 200 grand a year. my kids would be better kids as well.

i get to spend lots of time with mine--i work either 4 12 hours shifts one week and 3 12's the next. their mother works alot of evenings so we have boys night out at least once a week...either bowling or movies or just hanging out at pizza hut.

Luckily, I have no children but this thread makes me think a lot about what if I had kids. I see two sides to the issue. a) it is a terrible waste of money to buy kids toys. I (I am 21) remember as a kid just destroying toys...and it would seem that small (low cost) items and more quality time would be a much better gift. Perhaps use ps2 $ for an AA bond or something. At the same time I think it would be kind of neat to see kid's faces on x-mas morning when they get a gift they want. That must be worth something.

I would estimate that buying for teens would be the worst. They have this artificial competition in high school. Man....

My baby boy Ajay is only 16 months old. So me and my girl got him a bunch of clothes and little toys that he can play with. Nothing major as he is still young. I did however get him a big blowup of Barney so I can teach him to drop kick the purple POS! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
