Those new UPS pack-n-ship commercials..

I saw new commercials for UPS so-called 'pack-n-ship'..

You pay them to pack up your "heavy or delicate items" and if the item is damaged they insure you 100%..

i was wondering about this being as i have a 80lb speaker (18" xxx)...

instead of wasting countless dollars on foam and packing material and time etc... maybe have ups pack it themselves, that way if anything goes wrong with the shipment, i can be like "***** i didnt pack it"

anyone ever use it?

i dont trust ups, but them saying they take 100% responsibility, especially for a speaker, kind of makes me want to let them pack it instead of using my own packing if i ever have to send it.

I dropped off alot of computer parts at a UPS store, and they were ruined when the buyer received them. UPS paid in full for the package, because they packaged them. This was way before these commercials though?

My only concern is that it will get broken anyways.

Even though it's covered 100%, now you have to go through the hassle of filing a claim and getting the speaker fixed or replaced.

But I guess it would be the smarter way to go if they will actually pack it PROPERLY.

I would package anything myself then take that to them and have them pack that. Double boxed never hurt anyone. Most places will deny a claim if they didnt package it.

I, however, wouldnt trust them fully. Even if they messed it up its still a hassle.

Yeah, it would be a good deal if you didn't ship alot of stuff. Shipping big *** speakers is a hassle if you dont have all the supplies.

yeah i mean i have the round container it came in, but as far as securing that goes and/or actually having it arrive in one piece, i'd rather have them pack it and send it, and insure it for more than its worth.
